ABOUT ME
I've been taking pictures for almost as long as I can remember. My father (Robert Hudson, Sr) was a serious hobbiest and the family photographer. He taught me both the art and science of photography; through his actions he made me realize the importantace of creating a visual family history in photos. He did this by dragging my sister and me outside for photos every month.
To this day, we both treasure those photos.
When I was in the 10th grade I got serious about the craft. I worked at the local camera store (Ritz) all through high school and college and served as a staff photographer for the school paper and yearbook. I learned the art of photojournalism.
I've spent the past 25+ years as a freelance photographer shooting anything that I could: weddings, portraits, sports, news, etc. My photography has been published in newspapers and magazines all over the globe.
In the years since the decline of the editorial market I've shifted my attention to weddings, events and family portraits. I believe my journalism background gives me a unique angle on wedding photography. In a lot of ways, I look at a wedding as a news assignment; I'm there to capture the story in pictures.
